The trends for Summer 2014 would be a mix of a lot of things but the focus primarily would be on the color palette. Brighter colors would be there for men and women both and in the arena of brighter tones, Neon colors will outshine all the other palettes. So men also would not be scared to wear fuchsias, electric blues and neon greens this season.
There would be a lot of different trend lines that would be visible this season as
- 60’s style : The prints and cuts would be more of geometric with vibrant colors.
- African influence : For the typical Moroccan graphic influences.
- Haphazard Glam : Mixture of animal skins with floral and heavy accessories.
- Khakis : Khakis and earthy colors would make a modest comeback.
The Silhouettes would be easy to wear and relaxed. Fits are getting closer and waists are getting lower. A lot of fabric interests would be used in women as well as men from Viscose blends, Linen blends to stretch fabrics etc. But regardless of neon colors and fancy fabrics, minimalism would be the key.
Indian garment industry is very promising as India has a mass consumption base and spending power with level of per capita income on rising side so the expenditure.
New segment like ecom retail, online B2C, B2B, Organised retail frame work is gaining momentum, MBO business is in full swing and other channels are also growing simultaneously
With the advent of FDI into multi retail, growth and competition will rise simultaneously
Culmination of unorganised and organised retail sector need more focus
Unorganised sector needs technology and knowhow inputs to grow..Whereas organised sector needs investments in IT, Marketing and promotion to prosper
